Report to the Congregational Support Plan (CSP)On April 1st, Palm Sunday 2007, questionnaires were distributed to everyone attending church that day. Twenty-nine individuals responded. Results were collated in an Excel spreadsheet, charts were prepared, and the following brief summary resulted. What the respondents had to say… 1. Length of church membership: 17 out of 29 respondents have joined the Church in the past three years (59%). 2. Choice of service: The main service (however, except for Lent last year, it was the only service). 3. Attendance frequency: 25 out of 29 respondents attend church weekly (86%). 4. Participation: 16 out of 29 respondents participate in the liturgy (55%). 5. Length of service: Almost everyone agrees that it's 60 minutes. The infrequent attenders call it 90 minutes (probably because they come on special occasions when the service actually is longer). Everyone says it should stay the same. 6. Use of the Book of Common Prayer: 27 out of 29 think we always or "most times" follow the Book of Common Prayer (93%). 7. Participation in outreach: 14 out of 29 are involved in outreach in some way (48%). 8. Sunday school: Everyone knows we have a Sunday school, they know it meets every week, and almost everyone knows that we have average attendance of 5-10. Nine respondents have children in the Sunday school. Three respondents teach. 9. Pledge participation: 23 of 29 are pledgers (79%), although only 8 said they participated in the campaign. 13 (44%) recalled having heard about the concept of proportional giving. 10. Participation in parish and Diocesan events: 4/14/07 |
